The Sweet Dreams: Confectionary Sculpture exhibit by Connecticut-based artist Peter Anton is on display at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, CT. For Anton, who specializes in creating large-scale dessert sculptures, food goes beyond necessity and indulgence; it is a gateway to memory and emotion.
Below is some of the sweetest artwork that caught our eye at Sweet Dreams: Confectionary Sculpture.

In an interview with The Connecticut Examiner, Anton said, “I noticed people started telling me their personal stories, right from my first art exhibition. I’ve heard hundreds of them, how they would spend their summer somewhere and their grandfather would always stop the ice cream truck. A lot of people tear up,” he said. “They have these deep emotional ties to certain foods especially at certain times of the year.”
