Marian Anderson mural | Trending-in.com

A mural of Marian Anderson has appeared in the Downtown Danbury, CT, area. On the side of a building located across the street from Kennedy Transportation Center, a powder pink mural stands tall and recognizes the historical accomplishment of a Danbury/Bethel resident. In 1955, Marian became the first Black opera singer to perform at The Met. During a time fueled by segregation and discrimination, a talented Marian Anderson used her voice to transcend time (literally).
