More Murals, More Providence
The Avenue Concept

Providence, Rhode Island is a small town with a fisherman charm and a budding art pulse. Art initiatives, like The Avenue Concept, bring imagination and cheer to this calm and slow-paced, but sophisticated community. Providence murals are modest in nature and are usually large-scale murals made with light pastels – earthy tones that are easy-on-the-eyes. Wanna know more about Providence murals? Continue below.
Misty Blue
Cambodian artist, Andrew Hem, created the mural Misty Blue for The Avenue Concept’s Influx program in 2017. Not only is Hem a proud Cambodian immigrant, but this mural was specially created to represent the growing Cambodian population, right here in Providence.
Still Here
Large scale Providence murals like this one are powerful enough to make a huge impact on its residents and their Native American community! Still Here by Gaia features Narragansett tribal member Lynsea Monatari on a five-story mural, surrounded by divine natural elements like flowers, berries, blackbirds and other living things. In her hands, she holds a Black and white photo of tribal elder Princess Red Wing, founder of the Tomaquag Museum.
